Captains Log Saturday May 14th

Day 2 on board the Club House. Arrived in Golden Colorado.

Well, we made it to Colorado. Despite popular belief the bus and all its members coming from Atlanta made it to Colorado! And what a way to travel. Honestly, if you are going to drive over 30 hours straight across the country this is the way to do it. Tables, kitchen, couches, bed, and shot gun bag chair… it made the time fly by. We did go to Cracker Barrel- epic as always. So we go in, and wanted to post the next post there (we thought Cracker Barrel would have wi-fi) so I open my labtop and ask our waitress, Pam, if there is internet. She stared at us blankly and said…” I think so… I mean I’ve seen computers in here before. I’ll get the manager” about 15 min later the maniger came out to tell us “sorry, we don’t have internet available yet, we are working on getting that Wi-Fi thing here” ooohhh cracker barrel. Later Mercedes and I took a pic with Pam as I was taking it I said “ say Missouri on 3, wait, we are in Missouri right?” and as I snap the pic, pam responded “I hope so, or else I am really lost.” Ooohh Pam.

After dinner (mind you this is 10:30pm firday night) somehow I got suckered into driving the club house for the night shift. Mercedes being awesome said she’d stay up to keep me company. 7 hours later we are still cracking up cruisin’ on down Kansas 70 West with Mercedes in our make-shift shot-gun seat, a bag chair set up right next to the driver seat. Awesome.

Farmer took the morning shift and I waok up to pulling into Golden Colorado! Chris Q’s g/f Hill-Dog aka. Hi Larry, aka, Hillary goes to the School of Mines up here and Chris was visiting so that was our first stop. They were so kind to make us a delish breakfast.

And then, off to the Coors Factory – the largest single site brewery in the world! Apparently, everytime you visit the coors factory, you get 3 free beers a day. So every day the college kids go, take the short tour- and get their free beer. We were all kinda loopy due to the travel and elevation, beer really only made that even more hilarious.

We made a couple small repairs to the bus, now the plumbing works PERFECTLY! (well almost) but it is really going well. Went grocery shopping and took off toward Estes Park. Hill-Dog’s fam has a cabin up here and she was nice enough to let us park outside for free. As we got up here the snow started falling and the elks were EVERYWHERE. It really was beautiful, and cold. So we padded up the Bus, snuggled together and started drinking. It was great TSD bonding (our new team name).
